2nd Annual Top Dog Fundraiser was another Great Success!

Summary of North Central at LN 4/2/2019
The Lady Wildcats opened the season with an 11-5 victory over the Lady Panthers. Ravyn McClaren led the Wildcats on offense going 4 for 4 with a HR and 5 RBIs. Raniah Rogers went 3 for 3 with a double and Taylor Erschen went 2 for 2 with two HRs. The Lady Wildcats scored 4 in the first inning, 2 in the 2nd and 4th inning and 3 in the 5th inning. Taylor Burket pitched 6 innings for the win while striking out 11 batters and giving up 3 earned runs,
Summary of Richmond @ LN on 4/03/19
Wednesday's non-conference match-up against the Lady Red Devils of Richmond was suspended after 4 innings due to darkness with the Lady Wildcats trailing 18-15. The Wildcats jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning capped off by a Grace Hoppel 2 run single. They pushed the lead up to 14-3 after 3 innings on a 3 run homer from freshman Sarah Florczak. The wheels fell off in the 4th inning as Richmond scored a stunning 15 runs off of 3 Wildcat pitchers who struggled with 9 walks in the inning while giving up 8 hits as well. On offense, the Lady Wildcats were led by Taylor Erschen with 3 hits and 3 RBIs, Hoppel with 2 hits and 3 RBIs and Florczak with 2 hits and 4 RBIs.





Summary of Speedway at LN on 4/4/19
The Lady Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season to the #1 2A Lady Sparkplugs 9-3. Trailing 5-1 going into the bottom of the 5th, the Wildcats' Taylor Burket led off with a triple and scored when Arianna Hamilton reached 1st on an error. With runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out, Taylor Erschen singled to right to load the bases. Raniah Rogers then hit a grounder to second that scored Hamilton who beat the throw to the plate. The rally stalled with a ground out and a strike out. Speedway added two more runs in the 6th and 7th innings to finish off the Wildcats. Grace Hoppel and Erschen led the Wildcats on offense with two hits a piece. Burket took the loss on the mound.








Summary of LN @ Warren Central on 4/09/2019
The Lady Wildcats fell to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the MIC conference after coming up short in a loss to the Lady Warriors 4-3. The Warriors took 2-0 lead in the third inning on a 4 base error  and an RBI bloop single. The Warriors went up 3-0 in the 5th inning on a 2 out RBI single. The Wildcats bats were silent until the top of the 6th inning. With one out and Ravyn McClaren on first, Taylor Burket lined a double down the left field line moving McClaren to 3rd. Arianna Hamilton then reached first on a dropped third strike that scored McClaren. Burket then scored on a Delaney Hendrickson ground out. Then freshman Jadelyn Wims, in her first varsity game, lined a single down the left field line scoring Hamilton from second base to tie the score at 3-3. The Warriors got a two out RBI single in the 6th after two walks to take back the lead 4-3. The Wildcats loaded the bases with two outs in the 7th but the game ended on a Burket ground out to second base. Burket took the loss on the mound  giving up 2 earned runs while striking out 7 batters.







Summary of Scecina at LN on 4/10/19
The Lady Wildcats improved to 2-2 with a 6-5 win over the Lady Crusaders. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd inning, the Wildcats scored 3 runs. Taylor Burkett hit a 2 out 2 run double and Taylor Erschen followed it with an RBI single scoring pinch runner Haylee Whitener. The Wildcats added two more in the 3rd inning on an RBI single by Grace Hoppel who later scored on a bunt single form Arianna Hamilton. The Wildcats took a 6-1 lead in the 4th inning on singles from Erschen and Raniah Rogers and a sacrifice fly from Hoppel. The Crusaders battled back in the 5th with 3 runs to cut the lead to 6-4. Then in the top of the 7th, the Crusaders threatened to tie the score. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out, Whitener made a great running catch in right field to hold the runner on 2nd. Burket stuck out the next batter looking to end the game. Erschen led the offense going 3 for 4 while Hoppel and Burket each had 2 RBIs. Burket got the win with a complete game giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 7. 







Summary of Noblesville at LN on 4/13/19
The Lady Wildcats fell to 2-3 in a home loss to the #10 ranked Lady Millers 8-7. The Millers took a 2-0 in the top of the first inning. The Wildcats cut the lead to 2-1 in the 3rd inning when Haylee Whitener scored from 3rd base on a Taylor Erschen ground out. The Millers pushed out to a 5-1 lead in the 4th on a 3 run home run. The Wildcats scored a run in the 5th after Arianna Hamilton walked and scored from 3rd base on an Erschen bloop single to right. The Millers then scored a run in the 6th after a two out error and added two in the top of the 7th inning on 4 hits to take a 8-2 lead. In the bottom of the 7th, the Millers changed pitchers and Hamilton greeted her with a bloop single to left, Delaney Hendrickson and Whitener followed with walks to load the bases. Taylor Burket then hit a soft liner to the pitcher who tried to double off Hamilton on third but threw it wild to score Hamilton. Erschen was then was intentional walked to load the bases again. Rayvn McClaren and Anna Florczak each followed with RBI singles to make the score 8-5. The Millers then brought back in their ace (Florida State commit) back in. After getting a strikeout, Cierra Taylor came up and drilled an 0-1 pitch into the right field gap that scored Hendrickson and McClaren but Florczak was thrown out also trying to score on a close play at the plate (which all LN fans agree she was not tagged). Taylor and Burket led the Wildcats on offense with 2 hits a piece while Erschen and Taylor both had two RBIs. Burket threw another complete game while taking the loss. 







Summary of Fishers @ LN 4/15/19
The Lady Wildcats lost there second in a row as they were pounded by Fishers 21-6 to fall to 2-4 on the season. The Lady Tigers pounded out 18 hits and hit 4 HRs. After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first the Lady Wildcats scored to in the bottom of the 1st on RBI singles from Ravyn McClaren and Grace Hoppel. Then trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the third, the Wildcats scored 4 runs on a sacrifice fly by Raniah Rogers and on a bases loaded hit by Cierra Taylor that scored 3 runs when the left fielder made an error to give them a 6-5 lead. But then the Tigers scored 10 runs in the 4th and 6 runs in the 5th to close the game out. Taylor Erschen led the offense with 3 hits and McClaren added two hits. Taylor Burket took the loss on the mound.










Summary of LN @ Ben Davis 4/16/19
The Lady Wildcats improved to 3-4 and 2- in the MIC conference with a 10-9 win over the Lady Giants. Cierra Taylor led off the game with a double and later scored on a Ravyn McClaren sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Giants scored 5 unearned runs in the bottom of the 1st on two key errors by the Wildcats. The Lady Wildcats tied the game in the second on a 3 run HR by Arianna Hamilton and an RBI double by McClaren. The Giants took back the lead in the 4th on an unearned run to take a 6-5 lead. In the 5th inning, Raniah Rogers put the Wildcats back ahead with a 2 run HR. The Wildcats also added another run in the inning on a double steal by Hamilton and Taylor Burket to go ahead 8-6. The Wildcats added 2 more runs in the 6th on a two HR by Taylor Erschen to make the score 10-6. In the bottom of the 6th, the Giants scored 3 more unearned runs to cut the lead to 10-9. In the bottom of the 7th inning, The Giants threatened with runners on 1st and 2nd with one out but ended on a double play with Rogers making a catch on the run and doubling off the runner on 2nd base. McClaren went 3 for 3 on offense and Burket took the win with a complete game, striking out 7  and giving up zero earned runs.









Summary of Chatard at LN 4/17/19 
The Lady Wildcats fell to 3-5 on the season with a dismal loss to the Lady Trojans 12-1. The Trojans hit 4 HRs off of Grace Hoppel in her first varsity game pitching. On offense, the Wildcats scattered 7 hits with Anna Florczak getting 3 hits and Taylor Erschen getting 2 hits.

Summary of LN at Fishers 4/26/18
In a 6-2 loss, the Lady Wildcats left several runners in scoring position as they lost their second game in a row. Taylor Erschen hit her 6th HR of the season in the first inning to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. That held up until the fourth when Fishers got a solo HR to lead off the inning and then scored 3 runs with 2 outs to take a 4 to 1 lead. Errors in the next two innings gave Fishers a 6-1 lead after 6 innings. The Wildcats added a run in the 7th on a Maddie Howe Double and an RBI single by Grace Zielinski. Zielinski led the offense with 3 hits and Howe added 2 hits.   

Summary of LN at Brebuef 4/27/18
The Lady Wildcats improved to 9-3 with an 11-5 road win against Brebuef. In the 1st inning, Raniah Rogers had an RBI single to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. In the 3rd inning, Taylor Erschen hit a 2 run HR, her 7th of the season and Katie Demas had a 2 RBI single to increase the lead to 5-0. In the 4th inning, a Maddie Howe sacrifice fly and a Grace Zielinski RBI single gave the Wildcats a 7-1 lead. Brebuef closed the gap in the bottom of the 4th on a 3 run HR to make it 7-4. In the 6th inning the Wildcats added 4 more runs and went on to win 11-5. Leah Richards pitched a complete game while striking out 9 batters and only giving up one unearned run to gain her third win of the season.






Summary of LN vs Westfield 4/30/18
The Lady Wildcats used the long ball again to improve to 10-3 with a 6-3 win over the Lady Shamrocks. In the first inning, Taylor Erschen hit her 8th HR to give the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead. Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Erschen was intentionally walked with two outs to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Grace Zielinski made them pay with her first HR of her career to give the wildcats a 4-2 lead. In the bottom of the 6th, leading 4-3, Anna Florczak hit the Wildcats 3rd HR of the game as she hit a solo shot over the left field fence. It was her 5th of the season. Ravyn McClaren capped off the scoring with RBI single to the right center field gap scoring Katie Demas all the way from first. Erschen pitched another complete game for her 7th win of the season.

Summary of LN at Pike 5/1/2018
​The Lady Wildcats improved to 11-3 with a 19-1 win over Pike. The win also gives the Wildcats a 4-1 record in the MIC conference. The Wildcats scored 1 in the first inning, 5 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd, 5 in the 4th and 5 in the 5th. Leah Richards pitched all 5 innings giving up just 3 hits and picked up her 4th win of the season. Taylor Erschen led the offense with 4 hits including her 9th and 10th HR with 8 RBIs. Maddie Howe had 3 hits and Richards also had 3 hits including 2 doubles. 

Summary of LN vs Southport 5/2/2018
The Lady Wildcats lost a wild one to Southport by a score of 19-11. The Wildcats were hit with the injury bug on the pitching mound and ware down to one pitcher. Leah Richards pulled a groin muscle in the second inning and had to be removed for 2 innings. Deli Mueller stepped up to pitch the middle innings and then Richards gutted out the remainder of the game on the mound. Southport took advantage with 16 hits and 7 walks. The Wildcats offense was on fire with 14 hits and 6 HRs but it wasn't enough to overcome the Lady Cardinals hitting. In the first inning Maddie Howe, Anna Florzcak and Ravyn McClaren all hit HRs to put the Wildcats ahead 5-4. Taylor Erschen hit a 2 run HR, her 11th, in the 2nd inning to tie the game at 7-7. In the 4th inning, Florzcak hit a 3 run homer, her 7th of the year, and Katie Demas added a solo HR, her 4th, to cut the lead to 14-11. The Wildcats were shut out over the next 3 innings.

Summary of LN vs North Central 5/4/2018
In the 1st round of the Marion County tournament, the Lady Wildcats improved to 12-4 with a 11-0 win over the Lady Panthers. Maddie Howe led off the bottom of the 1st inning with her 3rd HR of the season and second straight leadoff HR. Katie Demas added an RBI single in the same inning to put the Wildcats up 2-0. Taylor Erschen had an RBI single in the 2nd inning to make the score 3-0. In the 3rd inning, Ravyn McClaren had an RBI single to increase the lead to 4-0. The Wildcats put the game away in the 4th inning with 7 runs on RBI singles by Raniah Rogers, Demas and Cierra Taylor. Erschen threw a 3 hit shutout to pick up her 8th win of the season. Erschen had 3 hits and Grace Zielinski, Howe, Demas and Leah Richards all added 2 hits as well. The Lady Wildcats advance to the second round of the County Tourney and will play the winner of Southport vs Speedway game tomorrow at 10 am at Ben Davis HS.

Summary of LN vs Southport 5/5/2018
​In the second round of the Marion County tournament, the Lady Wildcats improved to 13-4 with at 5-4 win over Southport. After giving up 3 unearned runs in the top of the first, Taylor Erschen hit a 2 run HR in the bottom of the first, her 12th, to cut the lead to 3-2. In the 3rd inning the wildcats scored 2 runs when Grace Zielinski laid down a bunt with runners on first and second and the pitcher made a throwing error which scored two runs. On the next pitch Taylor Burket scored on a wild pitch and the Wildcats went ahead 5-3. In the 7th inning with the score 5-4 and the tieing run on 3rd base for Southport with 2 outs. A hard line drive was hit to the gap, but Leah Richards ran it down and made a game saving catch for the win. Erschen threw a complete game scattering 4 hits and only giving up 1 earned run while striking ot 9 to gain her 8th win of the season. Raniah Rogers and Maddie Howe led the offense with 2 hits a piece and Howe had 2 doubles. The Wildcats advanced to the final 4 to take on 7th ranked Roncalli.

Summary of LN vs. Roncalli 5/5/2018
In the Final 4 of the Marion County Tourney, the Lady Wildcats lost to th 7th ranked Lady Rebels 7-3. The Wildcats fell behind 3-0 again after 3 innings. But in the top of the 4th, the Wildcats rallied with 4 consecutive hits and a walk to tie the game at 3-3. The biggest hit was a bases loaded single by Cierra Taylor that tied the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs, the Wildcats failed to score any more in the inning. Roncalli got a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 4th to go back up 6-3. The Wildcats could not mount another rally. Anna Florczak, Ravyn McClaren and Raniah Rogers each had 2 hits to lead the Wildcats on offense. Taylor Erschen took the loss on the mound and Taylor Burket pitched her first 2 innings of her varsity career and only gave up one run. 

Summary of LN at Brownsburg 5/7/2018
The Lady Wildcats lost a tough one on the road at #12 Brownsburg 5 to 4. The Wildcats gave up 2 unearned runs in the first inning to fall behind 2-0. In the 3rd inning Taylor Erschen lead off with a single and later scored on a wild pitch from 3rd base to cut the lead to 2-1. In the 4th inning, the Wildcats rallied. with 2 outs and no one on base, Leah Richards, Maddie Howe and Erschen all singled to load the bases. Anna Florczak then singled in two runs, her 33rd and 34th RBIs of the season, to put the Wildcats up 3-2. Grace Zielinski then got the 5th consecutive hit of the inning which scored Erschen. Florczak was thrown out at home on the play ending the inning with a 4-2 lead. Brownsburg rallied in the bottom of the 6th with two runs to tie it at 4 and then had a walk off single to win it in the 7th with one out. Erschen led the offense with 3 hits and Howe, Florczak and Richards each added two hits a piece.

Summary of LN vs LC on 5/8/2018
On Senior night, the Lady Wildcats improved to 14-6 overall and 5-1 in the MIC Conference with a 7-3 win over their rival Lady Bears. The Wildcats gave up 2 unearned runs in the top of the first but Grace Zielinski even the score in the bottom of the first with a 2 run homer, her 2nd of the season. Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the third, Katie Demas hit a solo HR, her 5th of the season, to tie the game again. In the bottom of the 4th, Rayvn McClaren hit a leadoff pinch hit HR, her 2nd of the season. Zielinski added another run in the 4th with an RBI double to put the Wildcats up 5-3. Maddie Howe had an RBI single in the 5th to increase the lead to 6-3 and Leah Richards had an RBI single in the 7th to put the game away. Zielinski led the offense with 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Howe, Florczak and Richards added 2 hits a piece. Taylor Erschen threw a complete game while striking out 5 and only giving up one earned one for her 9th win of the season.

Summary of LN vs Zionsville 5/10/2018
In a 15-9 loss. the Lady Wildcats blew a 9-4 lead after 5 innings. In the first inning the Wildcats scored 4 runs on an RBI single by Leah Richards and a 2 run double by Raniah Rogers. After giving up 3 unearned runs in the third, the Wildcats scored 5 runs in the 4th as Katie Demas had a 3 run HR, her 6th of the season, to give the Wildcats a 9-3 lead. Taylor Erschen pitched the first 4 innings for the Wildcats but had to leave the game due to a back injury. The Lady Eagles took advantage of the Wildcats ace being out and scored 11 runs in the 6th and 7th inning to complete the comeback. Raniah Rogers led the offense with 3 hits and 3 RBIs and Anna Florczak added 2 hits.

Summar of LN at Western Boone 5/12/2018
The Lady Wildcats improved to 15-7 with a 5-0 shutout over the Lady Stars. Freshman Taylor Burket, in her first varsity start, shut down the Lady Stars while giving up 4 hits and striking out 2.  The Wildcats scored one run in the 1st and third innings on wild pitches that followed Anna Florczak hits to go ahead 2-0. Maddie Howe hit a 2 out bases loaded double to clear the bases in the 4th inning to give the Wildcats a 5-0 lead. Florczak led the offense with 3 hits including a double and a triple and Howe added two doubles.

Summary of LN vs #1 Center Grove 5/15/2018
The Lady Wildcats took an 8-1 loss to the #1 ranked Lady Trojans and fell to 15-8 on the season. Center Grove scored 2 runs in the first and only one was earned. In the 5th inning, Center Grove scored 3 runs on a HR and added 2 more unearned runs to take a 7-0 lead. The Wildcats only run came on Taylor Erschen 13th HR of the season in the 6th inning. They were led on offense by Erschen and Florczak with two hits a piece. Freshman Taylor Burket pitched another complete game but took the loss.

Summary of LN at Guerin Catholic 5/16/2018
The Lady Wildcats improved to 16-8 while pounding out 22 hits and 4 HRs in a 21-7 win over the Lady Golden Eagles. In the 1st inning, Taylor Erschen hit a solo HR, her 14th, to get things started. Two batters later, Raniah Rogers hit a 2 run HR, her 3rd, to give the Wildcats a 3-0 lead. The Wildcats scored three more in the second inning capped off by Anna Florczak's RBI single. Guerin Catholic scored 6 unearned runs in the bottom of the 2nd to tie the score at 6-6. The Wildcats game back with 6 more runs in the top of the third capped off by another HR by Rogers, her 4th. This time it was a 3 run shot to increase the lead to 12-6. In the top of the 4th, the Wildcats exploded for 9 runs on 9 hits highlighted by Taylor Burket's first career HR. A solo shot to right field. Burket picked up the win in relief. The Wildcats were led on offense by Maddie Howe and Florczak with 4 hits a piece. Grace Zielinski, Burket and Rogers all had 3 hits with Rogers collecting 6 RBIs.

Summary of LN at Greenfield Central 5/18/2018
The Lady Wildcats finished the regular season with a 16-9 record in  a rain soaked 12-7 loss at Greenfield Central. GC took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first with a 2 run HR. Grace Zielinski cut that lead in half with a solo HR, her 3rd of the season, in the bottom of the 1st. GC added 3 runs in the 3rd inning and 2 more in the 4th to take a 7-1 lead. The Wildcats managed a run in the top of the 5th on a double by Maddie Howe and an RBI single by Anna Florczak. GC added 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to take a commanding 11-2 lead. The Wildcats rallied in the 6th with 5 runs on 7 hits and had the bases loaded with 1 out but failed to score. GC added a run in the 6th and then the Wildcats left the bases loaded again in the 7th. Taylor Erschen led the offense with 3 hits. Howe and Florczak added 2 hits a piece. Leah Richards threw a complete game while taking the loss. 

Summary of LN vs. #13 Cathedral 5/22/2018
The Lady Wildcats ended the 2018 season on a sour note as they were defeated by the Lady Irish 8-1. Six Errors plagued the Wildcats defensively as it gave the Irish 6 unearned runs. The Wildcats bats were silent as well with only 4 hits in the game. Cathedral scored 3 in the first, 2 which were unearned off 2 Wildcat errors. Cathedral added 2 unearned runs in the 3rd and 1 unearned run in the 5th inning to take a 6-0 lead. The Wildcats managed one run in the sixth as Maddie Howe scored from third on a groundout by Raniah Rogers. Cathedral scored two more in the 6th to put the wildcats away. Offensively, Taylor Erschen and Howe each had two hits. Erschen pitched a complete game while scattering 8 hits and only giving up 2 earned runs. ​                    

Summary of LN vs. LC 5/27/17 Sectional Final
In a 6 to 5 win, the Wildcats won their first sectional title since 1998 in dramatic fashion. With the score tied at 5 in the bottom of the 8th inning, Erschen was intentionally walked with one out and no one on for the 5th time in the game. Rogers followed with a single to put the winning run at 2nd base. Howe then bunted one towards first and the ball was thrown by the 1st baseman which enabled Erschen to score the winning run. Hogan led the Wildcats on offense with two hits including a double. Taylor also had two big hits that included a game tying single in the bottom of the 6th. Rogers also added two singles for the Lady Wildcats. Erschen pitched a complete game while giving up only 3 earned runs. 

Summary of LN vs. Greenfield Central 5/30/17 Regionals
In a 10 to 0 loss the Wildcats bats went silent as they only managed 3 hits and no one reached 2nd base. Spafford, Rudich and Rogers all had hits for the Wildcats but they were all in separate innings. Greenfield pieced together 2 runs in the 1st and second, one in the 4th, 3 in the 6th and 2 in the 7th to put the Wildcats away and ending a great year for the Wildcats. Erschen pitched a complete game for LN.
