2nd Annual Top Dog Fundraiser was another Great Success!

Summary of North Central at LN 4/2/2019
The Lady Wildcats opened the season with an 11-5 victory over the Lady Panthers. Ravyn McClaren led the Wildcats on offense going 4 for 4 with a HR and 5 RBIs. Raniah Rogers went 3 for 3 with a double and Taylor Erschen went 2 for 2 with two HRs. The Lady Wildcats scored 4 in the first inning, 2 in the 2nd and 4th inning and 3 in the 5th inning. Taylor Burket pitched 6 innings for the win while striking out 11 batters and giving up 3 earned runs,
Summary of Richmond @ LN on 4/03/19
Wednesday's non-conference match-up against the Lady Red Devils of Richmond was suspended after 4 innings due to darkness with the Lady Wildcats trailing 18-15. The Wildcats jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning capped off by a Grace Hoppel 2 run single. They pushed the lead up to 14-3 after 3 innings on a 3 run homer from freshman Sarah Florczak. The wheels fell off in the 4th inning as Richmond scored a stunning 15 runs off of 3 Wildcat pitchers who struggled with 9 walks in the inning while giving up 8 hits as well. On offense, the Lady Wildcats were led by Taylor Erschen with 3 hits and 3 RBIs, Hoppel with 2 hits and 3 RBIs and Florczak with 2 hits and 4 RBIs.





Summary of Speedway at LN on 4/4/19
The Lady Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season to the #1 2A Lady Sparkplugs 9-3. Trailing 5-1 going into the bottom of the 5th, the Wildcats' Taylor Burket led off with a triple and scored when Arianna Hamilton reached 1st on an error. With runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out, Taylor Erschen singled to right to load the bases. Raniah Rogers then hit a grounder to second that scored Hamilton who beat the throw to the plate. The rally stalled with a ground out and a strike out. Speedway added two more runs in the 6th and 7th innings to finish off the Wildcats. Grace Hoppel and Erschen led the Wildcats on offense with two hits a piece. Burket took the loss on the mound.








Summary of LN @ Warren Central on 4/09/2019
The Lady Wildcats fell to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the MIC conference after coming up short in a loss to the Lady Warriors 4-3. The Warriors took 2-0 lead in the third inning on a 4 base error  and an RBI bloop single. The Warriors went up 3-0 in the 5th inning on a 2 out RBI single. The Wildcats bats were silent until the top of the 6th inning. With one out and Ravyn McClaren on first, Taylor Burket lined a double down the left field line moving McClaren to 3rd. Arianna Hamilton then reached first on a dropped third strike that scored McClaren. Burket then scored on a Delaney Hendrickson ground out. Then freshman Jadelyn Wims, in her first varsity game, lined a single down the left field line scoring Hamilton from second base to tie the score at 3-3. The Warriors got a two out RBI single in the 6th after two walks to take back the lead 4-3. The Wildcats loaded the bases with two outs in the 7th but the game ended on a Burket ground out to second base. Burket took the loss on the mound  giving up 2 earned runs while striking out 7 batters.







Summary of Scecina at LN on 4/10/19
The Lady Wildcats improved to 2-2 with a 6-5 win over the Lady Crusaders. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd inning, the Wildcats scored 3 runs. Taylor Burkett hit a 2 out 2 run double and Taylor Erschen followed it with an RBI single scoring pinch runner Haylee Whitener. The Wildcats added two more in the 3rd inning on an RBI single by Grace Hoppel who later scored on a bunt single form Arianna Hamilton. The Wildcats took a 6-1 lead in the 4th inning on singles from Erschen and Raniah Rogers and a sacrifice fly from Hoppel. The Crusaders battled back in the 5th with 3 runs to cut the lead to 6-4. Then in the top of the 7th, the Crusaders threatened to tie the score. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out, Whitener made a great running catch in right field to hold the runner on 2nd. Burket stuck out the next batter looking to end the game. Erschen led the offense going 3 for 4 while Hoppel and Burket each had 2 RBIs. Burket got the win with a complete game giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 7. 







Summary of Noblesville at LN on 4/13/19
The Lady Wildcats fell to 2-3 in a home loss to the #10 ranked Lady Millers 8-7. The Millers took a 2-0 in the top of the first inning. The Wildcats cut the lead to 2-1 in the 3rd inning when Haylee Whitener scored from 3rd base on a Taylor Erschen ground out. The Millers pushed out to a 5-1 lead in the 4th on a 3 run home run. The Wildcats scored a run in the 5th after Arianna Hamilton walked and scored from 3rd base on an Erschen bloop single to right. The Millers then scored a run in the 6th after a two out error and added two in the top of the 7th inning on 4 hits to take a 8-2 lead. In the bottom of the 7th, the Millers changed pitchers and Hamilton greeted her with a bloop single to left, Delaney Hendrickson and Whitener followed with walks to load the bases. Taylor Burket then hit a soft liner to the pitcher who tried to double off Hamilton on third but threw it wild to score Hamilton. Erschen was then was intentional walked to load the bases again. Rayvn McClaren and Anna Florczak each followed with RBI singles to make the score 8-5. The Millers then brought back in their ace (Florida State commit) back in. After getting a strikeout, Cierra Taylor came up and drilled an 0-1 pitch into the right field gap that scored Hendrickson and McClaren but Florczak was thrown out also trying to score on a close play at the plate (which all LN fans agree she was not tagged). Taylor and Burket led the Wildcats on offense with 2 hits a piece while Erschen and Taylor both had two RBIs. Burket threw another complete game while taking the loss. 







Summary of Fishers @ LN 4/15/19
The Lady Wildcats lost there second in a row as they were pounded by Fishers 21-6 to fall to 2-4 on the season. The Lady Tigers pounded out 18 hits and hit 4 HRs. After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first the Lady Wildcats scored to in the bottom of the 1st on RBI singles from Ravyn McClaren and Grace Hoppel. Then trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the third, the Wildcats scored 4 runs on a sacrifice fly by Raniah Rogers and on a bases loaded hit by Cierra Taylor that scored 3 runs when the left fielder made an error to give them a 6-5 lead. But then the Tigers scored 10 runs in the 4th and 6 runs in the 5th to close the game out. Taylor Erschen led the offense with 3 hits and McClaren added two hits. Taylor Burket took the loss on the mound.










Summary of LN @ Ben Davis 4/16/19
The Lady Wildcats improved to 3-4 and 2- in the MIC conference with a 10-9 win over the Lady Giants. Cierra Taylor led off the game with a double and later scored on a Ravyn McClaren sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Giants scored 5 unearned runs in the bottom of the 1st on two key errors by the Wildcats. The Lady Wildcats tied the game in the second on a 3 run HR by Arianna Hamilton and an RBI double by McClaren. The Giants took back the lead in the 4th on an unearned run to take a 6-5 lead. In the 5th inning, Raniah Rogers put the Wildcats back ahead with a 2 run HR. The Wildcats also added another run in the inning on a double steal by Hamilton and Taylor Burket to go ahead 8-6. The Wildcats added 2 more runs in the 6th on a two HR by Taylor Erschen to make the score 10-6. In the bottom of the 6th, the Giants scored 3 more unearned runs to cut the lead to 10-9. In the bottom of the 7th inning, The Giants threatened with runners on 1st and 2nd with one out but ended on a double play with Rogers making a catch on the run and doubling off the runner on 2nd base. McClaren went 3 for 3 on offense and Burket took the win with a complete game, striking out 7  and giving up zero earned runs.









Summary of Chatard at LN 4/17/19 
The Lady Wildcats fell to 3-5 on the season with a dismal loss to the Lady Trojans 12-1. The Trojans hit 4 HRs off of Grace Hoppel in her first varsity game pitching. On offense, the Wildcats scattered 7 hits with Anna Florczak getting 3 hits and Taylor Erschen getting 2 hits.

Summary of LN vs Heritage Christian 4/22/19
The Lady Wildcats improved to 4-5 with an 8-2 win over the Lady Eagles. The Wildcats took 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a lead-off Home Run by Taylor Erschen and an RBI pop single by Grace Hoppel. The Wildcats went up 4-0 in the 2nd inning on a 2 run RBI double by Anna Florczak. The Wildcats went up 8-0 in the 4th as Florczak had another RBI single followed by a Raniah Rogers RBI single and a Hoppel 2 RBI single. The Eagles scored 2 unearned runs in the 6th to cut the lead to 8-2. On offense, Erschen had 3 hits and scored 3 runs, Hoppel had 3 hits and 3 RBIs, Florczak had 2 hits and 3 RBIs, and Cierra Taylor and Rogers added 2 hits apiece. Taylor Burket took the win on the mound giving up no earned runs in 6 innings while striking out 5 Eagles. 

Summary of LN at Carmel 4/23/19
The Lady Wildcats fell to 4-6 and 2-2 in the MIC with a 10-0 loss to the Lady Greyhounds. The Greyhounds scored two in the 3rd inning, 5 in the 4th inning and 3 in the 5th inning to put the Wildcats away. The Wildcats had another poor performance on offense as they had only two batters reach base. A Taylor Erschen lead-off double in the 1st inning and a lead-off bunt single by Grace Hoppel in the 2nd inning. Taylor Burket took the loss on the mound. 






Summary of LN at Westfield 4/29/19
The Lady Wildcats lost a heartbreaker last night, 11-10, to fall to 4-7 on the season. The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on RBI fielder's choice by Anna Florzcak and a Lady Shamrock error. The Shamrocks scored 3 in the first inning on an error, 2 walks, a sacrifice fly and 2 RBI singles. The Shamrocks to a 5-2 lead after 3 innings on an RBI single and scoring off another error. The Wildcats cut the lead to 5-3 on an RBI single by Cierra Taylor in the top of the 4th but the Shamrocks added a solo home run in the bottom of the 4th to take a 6-3 advantage. In the top of the 5th inning, the Wildcats rallied with 5 runs. With 2 outs, Haylee Whitener drew a bases loaded walk to cut the 3ead to 6-4. Taylor Erschen followed with an RBI single to cut it to 6-5. Then Taylor capped the inning off with a double clearing the bases and giving the Wildcats an 8-6 lead. The Wildcats took a 10- 6 lead in the top of the 6th on a 2 out RBI double by Delaney Hendrickson and an RBI single by Whitener. In the bottom of the 7th, trailing by 4, the Shamrocks led off with a triple. After an intentional walk, they scored on a fielder's choice to cut the lead to 10-7 and an RBI single to make it 10-8. The next batter was hit by the pitch and the bases were loaded on an infield dribbler hit down the 3rd baseline. The next batter then cleared the bases with a double to end the game. The Wildcats were led on offense by Erschen who went 4 for 5, Taylor with 2 hits and 4 RBIs and Florzcak who added 2 hits. Burket took the loss on the mound for the Wildcats.   









Summary of LN vs Pike 4/30/2019
​In a blowout, the Lady Wildcats improved to 5-7 and 3-2 in the MIC with a 18-2 win over Pike. The Wildcats scored 10 runs in the first inning started by a 2 run Home run by Cierra Taylor. Raniah Rogers added an RBI single, Haylee Whitener added a bases loaded double that cleared the bases and Taylor Erschen and Rayvn McClaren added RBI singles. The Wildcats added 7 more runs in the 2nd inning on a 2 run double by Erschen, a Taylor RBI single, an Anna Flozcak single, and RBI single by Grace Hoppel. The Wildcats added a run in the 3rd inning on another RBI single by Taylor. Hoppel pitched two innings of shut out ball for the win and Delaney Hendrickson pitched the final 3 innings giving up 2 runs. The Wildcats were led on offense by Taylor, Ershen and Florzcak who all had 3 hits with Taylor getting 4 RBIs and Erschen and Rogers adiing 3 RBIs a piece.







Summary of LN at Southport 5/1/2019
The Lady Wildcats dropped another one in a 14-4 loss to the Lady Cardinals. They are now 5-8 on the season. After trailing 1-0 after the first inning, the Wildcats tied it in the 2nd inning on an RBI single by Haylee Whitener. In the top of the 4th inning, the Wildcats took a 4 - 1 lead on an RBI single by Taylor Erschen and a 2 run RBI single by Cierra Taylor. With 2 outs and nobody on in the bottom of the 4th, Southport got 6 straight hits and scored 5 runs to take a 6-4 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, with 2 outs and runners at 1st and 2nd, Southport got 7 straight hits which brought in 8 more runs to finish off the Wildcats. The Wildcats were led on offense by Taylor and Anna Florczak with 2 hits a piece. Burket took the loss on the mound.



Summary of LN vs Warren Central 5/3/2019
In the 1st round of the Marion County tournament, the Lady Wildcats fell to 5-9 on the season as they were pounded by the Lady Warriors 18-10.  With the score tied 1-1 in the top of the 2nd inning, the Warriors scored 13 runs on 7 hits, 6 walks and 1 error. Trailing 15-1 in the bottom of the fourth, the Wildcats scored 3 runs on an RBI single by Anna Florzcak and a Jadelyn Wims RBI single to cut the lead to 15-4. In the bottom of the 5th inning, the Wildcats added 4 more runs an RBI double by Cierra Taylor, an RBI double by Florzcak and an RBI single by Raniah Rogers to make the score 15-8. That was a close as the Wildcats would get. The Wildcats collected 17 hits in the game but left 14 runners on base including leaving the bases loaded twice and runners on 2nd and 3rd twice.  Rayvn led the offense going 4 for 4. Arianna Hamilton had 3 hits and Flrzcak, Taylor, Wims and Haylee Whitener all added 2 hits apiece. The Wildcats pitching woes continued as they gave up 14 hits, 15 earned runs and walked 13 batters while only striking out one batter.




Summary of LN vs Brownsburg 5/6/2019
​The Lady Wildcats loss their 3rd game in a row falling 19-7 to the Lady Bulldogs. After trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the 1st inning, the Wildcats loaded the bases with no outs. Rayvn McClaren then drew a walk, Raniah Rogers followed that with an RBI single, Grace Hoppel followed that with an RBI single, and Arianna Hamilton followed with a fielder's choice that scored two runs. After a Haylee Whitener single, Taylor Burket had an RBI single which gave the Wildcats a 6-3 lead. The Bulldogs scored 2 unearned runs in the top of the second to cut the lead to 6-5 and then took a 7-6 lead on a 2 run home run in the top of the 3rd inning. The Bulldogs then erupted for 7 runs in the top of the 4th inning on 3 walks, 6 hits an 1 error to take a 14-6 lead. Taylor Erschen hit her 5th home run of the year in the bottom of the 4th inning to make it 14-7. The Bulldogs scored 5 more runs in the 5th inning to put the Wildcats away. The Wildcat pitchers gave up 16 hits, 7 walks and 8 earned runs in the defeat. The defense failed to not back them up and committed 6 errors. The offense was led by Erschen and Rogers with 2 hits a piece.




Summary of LN at LC 5/7/2019
In a rivalry MIC conference game, the Lady Wildcats came up short to the Lady Bears in a 6-5 loss.  The Bears scored 5 runs in the 1st inning off of pitcher Grace Hoppel on 4 hits, 3 walks and 2 errors. In the top of the 4th inning, Taylor Erschen led off with a double and later scored on an RBI single by Rayvn McClaren to make the score 5-1. In the top of the 5th inning. Hoppel led off with a single and then after a fielders choice and a pop out, Erschen singled and Cierra Taylor was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Anna Florzcak then singled in 2 runs to cut the lead to 5-3. McClaren followed that with her 2nd RBI single of the game to make it 5-4.  The Wildcats tied the score in the top of the 6th inning on a lead single from Jadelyn Wims, a 2 out single by Haylee Whitner and an RBI single by Erschen. The Bears pulled it out in the bottom of the 7th inning on a single followed by a walk and a double to end the game. The Wildcats were led on offense by Erschen with 3 hits while McClaren and Hoppel each added 2 hits. Taylor Burket came in to pitch in the 2nd inning and threw 5 shut out innings until the 7th inning.






Summary of LN at Zionsville 5/9/2019
The Lady Wildcats lost their 5th game in a row in an 11-5 defeat to the Lady Eagles. The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a 2 run home run by Anna Florzcak. The Eagles came back in the first inning with 3 runs on 4 hits to go ahead 3-2. In the top of the 2nd inning, Grace Hoppel led off with a triple and scored on a Haylee Whitener ground out to tie the game at 3-3. In the top of the 3rd inning, Cierra Taylor singled and Florzcak made it first and third with another single. Taylor later scored on fielder's choice and Raniah Rogers doubled home Florzcak to make it 5-3 Wildcats. In the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Eagles had runners on 1st and 2nd with one out and the next batter hit a soft liner to pitcher Taylor Burket, in an attempt to double the runner off first, Burket airmailed the ball over the 1st baseman's head for a two base error. On the following play, Ranaih Rogers and Arianna Hamilton miscommunicated on a fly ball for another 2 base error that tied the score at 5. The Eagles got another run in the 3rd and went up 6-5. The Lady Eagles added 5 runs in the 4th inning with 2 outs on 3 walks and 3 hits to put the Wildcats away. On offense, the Wildcats were led by Flrozcak and Taylor with two hits apiece. Burket gave up 14 hits and 8 earned runs while striking out 3 batters. 











Summary of LN vs Mt Vernon on 5/10/2019
The Lady Wildcats lost their 6th game in a row to the #15 ranked Lady Marauders 16-5. Mt Vernon scored 6 runs in the first inning off starting pitcher, Delaney Hendrickson on 5 walks and 4 hits that included a home run. Mt Vernon scored 6 more runs in the 3rd inning on 3 walks and 5 hits that included 2 home runs. The Wildcats scored all 5 of their runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning on 2 run Home run by Taylor Erschen, her 6th, and a 3 run homer by Raniah Rogers, her 2nd. The Lady Mauraders added 2 more runs in the 4th and 5th innings to put the Wildcats away. Erschen and Ravyn McClaren led the Wildcats with 2 hits apiece.

















Summary of LN vs Western Boone 5/11/2019
The Lady Wildcats swept a Doubleheader from the Lady Stars 11-5 and 7-6 in 11 innings. In the first game, the Wildcats trailed 2-0 going into the bottom of the 2nd inning with 1 out when Grace Hoppel singled, then Haylee Whitener doubled, then Arianna Hamilton followed with an RBI single and then Taylor Erschen hit a 3 run home run, her 7th. Anna Florzcak capped off the scoring with a 2 run home run, her 2nd, to give the Wildcats a 6-2 lead. In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Wildcats scored 2 more runs on an RBI double by Ravyn McClaren and a passed ball. The Wildcats went up 11-5 in the bottom of the 5th inning on an RBI single by Florzcak, and a 2 run RBI single by McClaren. Western Boone added 3 runs in the 6th but it wasn't enough. Taylor Burket took the win on the mound giving up 2 runs in 5 innings. On offense, Erschen, Florzcak and McClaren all had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Cierra Taylor also had 3 hits. In game 2, The Lady Stars took 1-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning but Erschen tied it in the bottom of the 5th inning with a solo home run, her 8th. With 2 outs in the top of the 6th inning, the Wildcats committed 2 errors that led to 2 unearned runs to take a 3-1 lead. The Wildcats fought back in the 6th inning with an RBI single by Hoppel and a bases loaded 2 RBI single by Taylor to take a 4-3 lead. In the top of the 7th inning, the Stars took the lead back 5-4 on 2 hits and an error. The Wildcats tied the score in the 7th inning on an RBI single by Hoppel after a double by Raniah Rogers. In the 11th inning, the Stars took athe lead 6-5. In the bottom of the 11th inning, Flozcak and McClaren led off with singles and Rogers followed with a beautiful bunt single down first base. Hoppel then followed with a full count double to win it for the Wildcats. Burket pitched all 11 innings giving up 3 earned runs to get the win on the mound. On offense, the Wildcats had 21 hits. Erschen and Hoppel had 4 hits while Rogers and Whitener had 3 hits apiece,






Summary of LN at #3 Center Grove 5/14/2019
The Lady Wildcats took a 10-1 loss to the #3 ranked Lady Trojans and fell to 7-14-1, and 3-4 in the MIC conference. The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning on an infield hit by Arianna Hamilton that scored Raniah Rogers after she singled to right field earlier in the inning. The Trojans tied in the bottom of the second and took a 2-1 lead after 3 innings on an unearned run. The Trojans added 3 runs in the 4th and 5th innings and added 1 run in the 6th to take a 10-1 lead. The Wildcats only managed 3 hits in the game. One by Rogers, a double by Ravyn McClaren and Hamilton's infield single. Delaney Hendrickson took the loss on the mound after throwing 4 solid innings.







Summary of LN at Guerin Catholic 5/15/2019
On Senior night, the Lady Wildcats were shut out 3-0 by the Lady Golden Eagles and fell to 7-15-1 on the season. The Golden Eagles scored an unearned run in the 3rd inning to go ahead 1-0 and added 2 runs in the 6th inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Wildcats struck out 15 times and only managed two hits. Both of those came from Senior Cierra Taylor. Taylor Burket threw a complete game while giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 4 batters.











Summary of LN vs Greenfield Central 5/17/2019
The Lady Wildcats finished the regular season with a 9-5 win over the Lady Cougars. The Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a 2 run home run. The Wildcats tied it up in the bottom of the 1st inning on an RBI double by Anna Flozcak and a squeeze bunt by Raniah Rogers. The Cougars scored 2 more runs in the top of the second inning to go up 4-2 but the Wildcats matched them with 2 runs in the 2nd inning as well as Florzcak knocked in 2 more runs with a bases loaded single to make it 4-4. The Cougars added a run in the top of the 4th inning to go ahead 5-4. The Wildcats rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th as Florzcak brought in another run on a fielders choice. Ravyn McClaren then hit an RBI double, Rogers reached on an error scoring Florzcak, Rogers later scored on a ground out and McClaren later scored on a passed ball to make it 9-5. Delaney Hendrickson started on the mound for the Wildcats and was chased from the game in the fourth trailing 5-4. Taylor Burket then took over and shut the Cougars down for3 and 1/3 innings to get the win. The Wildcats will play Monday night at 5:30 pm in the first round of the sectionals vs. Warren Central at Warren Central. Come support the Cats!













Summary of LN vs. #13 Cathedral 5/22/2018
The Lady Wildcats ended the 2018 season on a sour note as they were defeated by the Lady Irish 8-1. Six Errors plagued the Wildcats defensively as it gave the Irish 6 unearned runs. The Wildcats bats were silent as well with only 4 hits in the game. Cathedral scored 3 in the first, 2 which were unearned off 2 Wildcat errors. Cathedral added 2 unearned runs in the 3rd and 1 unearned run in the 5th inning to take a 6-0 lead. The Wildcats managed one run in the sixth as Maddie Howe scored from third on a groundout by Raniah Rogers. Cathedral scored two more in the 6th to put the wildcats away. Offensively, Taylor Erschen and Howe each had two hits. Erschen pitched a complete game while scattering 8 hits and only giving up 2 earned runs. ​                    

Summary of LN vs. LC 5/27/17 Sectional Final
In a 6 to 5 win, the Wildcats won their first sectional title since 1998 in dramatic fashion. With the score tied at 5 in the bottom of the 8th inning, Erschen was intentionally walked with one out and no one on for the 5th time in the game. Rogers followed with a single to put the winning run at 2nd base. Howe then bunted one towards first and the ball was thrown by the 1st baseman which enabled Erschen to score the winning run. Hogan led the Wildcats on offense with two hits including a double. Taylor also had two big hits that included a game tying single in the bottom of the 6th. Rogers also added two singles for the Lady Wildcats. Erschen pitched a complete game while giving up only 3 earned runs. 

Summary of LN vs. Greenfield Central 5/30/17 Regionals
In a 10 to 0 loss the Wildcats bats went silent as they only managed 3 hits and no one reached 2nd base. Spafford, Rudich and Rogers all had hits for the Wildcats but they were all in separate innings. Greenfield pieced together 2 runs in the 1st and second, one in the 4th, 3 in the 6th and 2 in the 7th to put the Wildcats away and ending a great year for the Wildcats.
