Click below for a sample letter for ATHLETES to send to college coaches. These change a little, if you received some feed back/university has come to a travel ball game or just a thank you. Here’s a list of things that we were told are important:

1. Subject line must have these-
Grad year
GPA
Postions
Athlete name
HS
Travel team name
Uniform number

2. Always spell head coaches name correctly and is correct coach for the university

3. Short bio

4. Upcoming schedules- in order to get on coaches radar, they have to know you are interested in them too.

5. Do some research on program i.e. record etc. and put in email so they know you follow their program.

6. Ask to have university send Recruiting Questionnaire link (if it’s not listed on the university website) Once you are on that, you being to receive their camp info. It's a mass email data base.

7. List Athlete contact info and travel ball coach info

-Coaches CANNOT respond to your emails. They get them, you just don’t know it.lol

-Keep in mind, no college coach can contact a player/parent directly after the 1st day of freshman school year. All contact is done thru travel/HS coaches. If an athlete is on there campus or camp the athlete and parent CAN approach coaches. Once again must be on there campus or camp.

-Athletes that are playing travel ball this year at the A level should already have their schedules. Athletes should be sending letters out to coaches sooner rather than later right now so they get on their radar. Athletes must realize you have to send ALOT of emails and it is very time consuming. But if you want to play at the next level you MUST send emails.
